Supermarkets are constantly updating their rules, opening hours and policies during the coronavirus pandemic. The health crisis has caused both staff and customers to change the way that they behave in store. In its latest update, Aldi has warned customers that they have made changes to the way they can shop for Specialbuys.

The bargain store has become well known for its popular Specialbuys, a mix of products which span household essentials and even furniture at low prices.
The cheap finds are restocked every Thursday and Sunday as new items become available, often around a specific theme such as gardening or baby must-haves.
Customers can usually find the deals in the supermarket’s middle aisles, often in huge baskets, as well as on the store’s website.
However, shoppers have spotted that the full range isn’t in store each week.
A new message on Aldi’s site has confirmed that there’s been a change to the availability of the bargain products.
A statement on the website read: “You may have noticed that not all our advertised Specialbuys have been available to purchase in store due to current events.
“We’re pleased to be able to tell you that many of these are still available to purchase online, while stocks last.”
The store is selling some of its larger items online only, so customers can order for delivery rather than visiting their local Aldi.

As the coronavirus lockdown continues, Britons are expected to shop less frequently and only go to the store for essentials when they really need them.
With Aldi’s Specialbuys being so popular, selling some of the bigger items online rather than in store should help to reduce the number of customers visiting just to browse the latest bargains.
It’s not the only change that the supermarket has made to help its loyal fans stay home either.
The shop always alerts customers to what they can expect to find in the next week’s range of Specialbuys.

A weekly leaflet is handed out in store to reveal the next great deals, with anything from power tools to hot tubs and nursery chairs on offer, as well as the smaller items.
However, the supermarket has announced that for the first time ever, it has created the brochure online in a digital format.
The change means customers can stay informed about what Specialbuys are coming each week without having to put themselves at risk and going to their store.
The move is likely to increase online sales too, as customers look for ways to improve the house or get their shopping fix online while the high street remains closed.
Supermarkets and other stores offering items considered essential are the only shops that have been able to stay open for business during the lockdown.
The closures have caused many brands to go into administration and accept that they won’t reopen when the lockdown ends.
However, supermarkets have had to make drastic changes to stay open, with staff wearing PPE as well as special perspex screens being put in at checkouts.
There are also special shopping hours for key workers and carers to help vulnerable shoppers get access to what they need, as well as to thank the frontline staff for all they’re doing for the country.
