Our take on Taco Bell’s Cinnamon Twists taste just like the real thing, minus the drive-thru experience. They’re super light and crunchy, and the cinnamon-sugar mixture provides the perfect balance of sweetness and spice.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups canola or peanut oil, for frying
  • 4 ounces duros Mexican wheat pellet twists (about 50 pieces)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

How to Make It

Step 1

Preheat oil in a Dutch oven over medium-high to 350°F.

Step 2

Add about 10 duros to hot oil at a time, and cook until fully puffed, about 20 seconds. Remove with a slotted spoon or spider, and drain on paper towels. Repeat with remaining duros.

Step 3

Combine sugar and cinnamon in a large ziplock plastic bag, and shake well. Add about 10 twists to bag, and shake to coat. Shake off any excess, and serve. Repeat with remaining cooked duros.
