There are many ways to eat food. Plates, bowls, and even ramekins come to mind. But perhaps no single vessel offers us as much as the bread bowl. Think about it: it’s a food that you can use to store other foods like soup, chili, or, in the case of a new Disney World item, just a whole bunch of cheese.
Seriously: it’s one of the more beautiful arrangements of cheese and carbs I’ve ever seen.

Oh um hi ?? BREAD ? BOWL OF MELTY CHEESE ?!! Yes, friends, our dream has come true! You can now get a bowl-o-cheez at Les Halles in Epcot! It’s the new “soup” option and it’s basically the best thing that’s ever happened to us (including weddings, childbirth, and front row Def Leppard tickets). Get. It.

As with all of Disney’s finest and vaguely internationally-themed foods, you’ll find this delightfully decadent offering at Epcot. Specifically, it’s sold at Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie, a “traditional french bakery” which would seem to have no connection to the similarly-named New York City Brasserie which featured in Anthony Bourdain’s Kitchen Confidential.
According to @DisneyFoodBlog, the Instagram account that shared this magnificent discovery with the world, this is technically “the new ‘soup’ option” at Les Halles and “it’s basically the best thing that’s ever happened to us.” I agree with the latter part of that statement, but is a bread bowl full of what looks like fondue cheese really fit to be called a soup? Surely that designation will rankle some purists.

This movable feast is just one recent example of Disney parks blessing us with some surprisingly good eats. Over at Disneyland, Churro Toffee seems to be all the rage. If you could somehow teleport between Orlando, Florida and southern California, you’d have the makings of a perfect savory and sweet pairing.
As of now, we don’t know how long this cheesy “soup” will be available from the French Quarter of Epcot. I imagine not everyone who has a trip to Disney World lined up right now will actually end up getting there, so hopefully this bold and beautiful bread bowl will be on the menu for a long time to come.
