Nipping to the coffee shop on the way to work or when out shopping is one of life’s luxuries – but with the lockdown this has all changed. Most cafes remain closed, leaving a coffee deficit for those who want their daily fix.

There are a wealth of coffee machines and types of coffee available, but sometimes only coffee shop types will do.

With cappuccinos, mochas, cold brew and even hot chocolates now out of reach, the top coffee brands have been releasing recipes for how to make everyone’s favourites at home.

Starbucks has been showing its social media followers how to make mochas, Frappuccinos and iced coffees at home with ease.

Now you can make your own Starbucks iced mocha at home, following the recipe below.

How to make Starbucks iced mocha


  • Two tablespoons of chocolate sauce – or melted chocolate
  • Double espresso
  • 100ml cold milk
  • Handful of ice
  • Whipped cream


In a tall latte glass, pour the two tablespoons of chocolate sauce or melted chocolate.

Next, add a double shot of espresso – or one teaspoon or instant coffee and a quarter of a cup of water.

Then add 100ml of your choice of milk.

Drop-in a handful of ice, and finish off with some whipped cream.

If you want extra sweetness you can also add extra chocolate sauce on top.

If a mocha is too sweet for you and you’d prefer something else, here is how to make Starbucks cold brew coffee.

How to make cold brew coffee – Starbucks recipe


  • 125g ground coarse coffee
  • 750ml cold water
  • French press


Combine 125g of ground course coffee with the 750ml of cold water in a French press.

Let it brew for 12 to 14 hours.

Once brewed, plunge the grounds to the bottom of the French press.

To serve, mix 50/50 with water and pour over ice.

The mixture will last in the fridge for up to seven days.
