When a food recall is issued, customers should check their cupboards for the latest affected products. Supermarkets have issued an update on some of the items currently being recalled.
SPAR Chicken and Prawn paella
A warning was shared by the Food Standards Agency (FSA) this week about the paella product.
It has been recalled as it may contain fish, molluscs, milk and wheat (gluten) which are not mentioned on the packaging.
This would cause a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance.
The affected packs are 600 grams with the lot number 0105.
The stores have now updated the recall to include packs with any best before date in October 2021.
Rude Health The Ultimate Muesli
The muesli product has also been added to the list of recalled items.
The item is sold in supermarkets including Waitrose and Sainsbury’s.
The items could cause salmonella which causes symptoms including abdominal cramps, vomiting and fever.
The FSA website states: “Rude Health Food Ltd has taken the precautionary step of recalling The Ultimate Muesli containing brazil nuts because they may contain salmonella.”
The affected items are 500 grams with best before dates June 12, 2021, June 24, 2021, July 20, 2021, and July 21, 2021.
Anyone who has bought the packs can return them to stores for a full refund.
Eat Natural and HEMA bars
Hand2Mouth Ltd shared a warning on one HEMA cereal bar and one Eat Natural bar flavour, which are sold in a variety of pack sizes.
The products are sold by retailers including Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons and Waitrose.
The supermarket chain, Tesco, has issued an update on the recall on their Twitter page.
It gave more advice for those who had bought the product in one of its stores.
It reads: “As a safety precaution, the manufacturer of Eat Natural bars is recalling their Eat Natural brazil & sultana with peanuts and almonds 50g bar. This is due to a potential risk of salmonella in the product.
“Do not eat the affected products. If you bought one of the products listed above from us, you can return it to a Tesco store where a full refund will be given. No receipt is required.”
They are also being recalled due to the possible risk of salmonella to consumers.
