Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Iceland and Lidl have recalled a number of food items in recent days. The recalls all come thanks to range of serious health issues – allergy warnings, and salmonella fears.

Tesco

The most popular supermarket in the UK is recalling a cereal bar after the possibility of Salmonella was discovered in several batches.

Product affected is:

  • Eat Natural Brazil & Sultana with Peanuts and Almonds Bar 50g. Best before dates affected are September 2020, October 2020, November 2020, December 2020, January 2021, February 2021, March 2021, April 2021, May 2021 and June 2021.

Customers do not need a receipt to return this product. Those who have recently bought this product are urged to check the best before date immediately.

Asda & Morrisons

Worthenshaws has recalled certain Kirsty’s products, which are sold at the two supermarkets, due to the presence of gluten which is not on the label.

Products affected are:

  • Kirsty’s Mini Classic Beef Lasagne. Pack size 250g. Use by all dates between 2 September to 19 October 2020

  • Kirsty’s Classic Beef Lasagne. Pack size 400g. Use by all dates between 10 September to 24 October 2020

Sainsbury’s

Sainsbury’s are recalling their own brand UHT milk because of a potential microbiological contamination.

Product affected is:

  • Semi-skimmed less than two percent one litre UHT milk. Best before dates affected are December 28, 2020 and December 29, 2020.

Shoppers should return this item to store for a full refund.

Iceland

Frozen food giant Iceland has several recalls in place.

Products affected are:

  • Iceland Chip Shop Curry Chicken Breast Toppers – some batches were found to have salmonella

  • Iceland Southern Fried Chicken Popsters – some batches were found to have salmonella

  • Greggs frozen steak bakes – may contain small pieces of plastic. Best before dates affected are December 20, 2020, December 22, 2020 and December 23, 2020.

  • Stockley’s Fruit Sherbets – contains milk not listed on the label. Pack size 250g. Batch code 0255. Best before February 2022 and March 2022

Lidl

A range of chicken products are being recalled from Northern Ireland. Chicken products from Faughan Foods are being recalled. The step, described as precautionary, affects new batches and another product.

Products affected are:

  • Glensallagh Roast Chicken Pieces. Pack size 240g. Batch code P3629 and P4629. Best before 02 October 2020

  • Glensallagh Tikka Style Chicken Pieces. Pack size 240g. Batch code P3629 and P4629. Best before 02 October 2020
