Prime Day isn’t all Instant Pots and smart toaster ovens. I mean, it’s a LOT of those things. But there are also great deals to be found on the smaller stuff. Smaller stuff that’ll make your time in the kitchen easier, better, or just more fun. Be careful, though: A lot of the tools and gadgets on markdown are from no-name brands and bound to break (or just not work correctly!) soon after arrival. That’s why I rounded up some of the best deals from well-known brands.
It’s Amazon Prime Day — check out all our sales and deals coverage here.
1. Chef’n Citrus Orange Squeezer and Juicer, $35 (normally $40)
Fact: This is the juicer that our EIC, Faith Durand, uses and she is obsessed with it. The company says it produces up to 20 percent more juice than conventional juicers (thanks to a dual-gear mechanism) and, though Faith hasn’t actually done a scientific comparison, she says she agrees!
2. KitchenAid 7-Piece Kitchen Tool Set, $123 (normally $150)
Sending a kid off to college soon? Or maybe you just signed the lease for your first apartment? This 7-piece set comes with nearly every tool that’s needed to set up a new kitchen. It includes a slotted turner, basting spoon, slotted spoon, short turner, ladle, can opener, and a pair of silicone tipped tongs.
3. Rubbermaid Brilliance Food Storage Container, $20 for 14 pieces (normally $40)
Many Kitchn editors tout these plastic food storage containers as their favorites. They seriously DO NOT leak, they’re clear (so you can see what’s inside), they stack, and they’re incredibly easy to clean. Our Staff Writer, Lauren Masur, even says they actually make her WANT to pack lunch.
4. Shun Sora Chef’s Knife, $60 (normally $80)
This knife may not look like it’s actually on sale, but rest easy knowing that the 25 percent gets taken off automatically during checkout. If you’re not familiar with the brand, know that it makes some of the best Japanese knives on the market.
5. Bodum Chambord French Press Coffee Maker, $26 (normally $54)
Simply the very best French press you can buy. Enough said. Just make sure you click that coupon box for an extra $3.50 off!
6. Brita 10-Cup Everyday Water Pitcher, $25 (normally $35)
You already know that bottled water is not the answer (it’s costly to produce!). But straight-from-the-tap water isn’t the answer either. What is? A water filter like this Brita pitcher. Keep it full and you’ll always have clean, cold water waiting for you in the fridge.
