It’s quite rare that we get a look inside of the true lives of the royals, but an old Grazia article is resurfacing that includes advice from Meghan Markle for throwing the best Christmas dinner ever. The article was first published in 2019 and features tips from Meghan long before she was a Duchess, and while her Christmas plans may look different than they once did, her suggestions can still be helpful for those who want to try something new.
From the table setting to the food itself, Meghan told Grazia back in 2015 that some of the best ways to achieve a classy yet fun look includes white linens, gilded plates, white flowers, and fun accent pieces like antique silver trays or copper mule glasses. As for food, like probably everyone else, the now-Duchess said she always ends up buying too much.
“If you’re like me, you end up buying way too much of everything for holiday meals,” she told Grazia before sharing a recipe that will help use up any leftover potatoes: “So whether you have leftover sweet potatoes or simply want to revamp the classic holiday side, these maple glazed potato wedges are crave-worthy. With the slight kick from cayenne and the brightness of the added lemon, they will be a crowd favorite.”
The recipe uses two sweet potatoes, two tablespoons of olive oil, the juice of half a lemon, one tablespoon of maple syrup, half a teaspoon of cayenne, Himalayan sea salt, and a handful of pepitas.
