This Is the Only Cutting Board You’ll Catch Me Spending Money On

You know you have a great kitchen tool on your hands when you experience a wave of gratitude every time you use it. And if you’re using that tool on a daily basis, all the better for you. This is very much the case with my favorite cutting board.

Over the years, I’ve tried cutting boards of all varieties—plastic, teak, bamboo, you name it. I’ve chopped on the heartiest butcher’s blocks and diced on the floppiest plastic cutting mats, but there’s only one cutting board that’s ever fully stolen my heart—and my brand loyalty—and that is the sleek, natural wood fiber Epicurean cutting board.

Stay up to date on what healthy means now.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: these are the most durable, lowest-maintenance cutting boards I’ve ever owned. And they’re the only cutting boards I plan to purchase, for myself or others, in years to come. I mentioned their sleekness; by design, these lightweight cutting boards are so incredibly easy to store and handle in the kitchen. Epicurean boards are crafted from a paper composite material that’s not only eco-friendly, but makes for a dreamy-smooth surface—ideal for sliding food straight from board to pan—that doesn’t degrade over time. I’ve had my Epicurean boards for 6 years, and you’d be hard-pressed to find a visible scratch anywhere. And there’s still so much more to love!

Epicurean cutting boards are heat resistant up to 350°, meaning you can use them as trivets with zero concern about burning the board. This is certainly not the case with the handful of wooden boards in my cabinet donning dark round scars from too-hot pans of the past. Plus, they’re non-porous, so you don’t have to worry about harboring bacteria in any nooks and crannies. And that brings me to perhaps my favorite aspect of my Epicurean cutting boards: Although they’re easy to clean by hand (again, that smooth surface is everything), they’re totally dishwasher friendly—no warping, folks!

My board of choice is the OG Natural Epicurean board. However, Epicurean offers a number of other styles, such as boards with nonslip grips and boards with grooves around the perimeter. The cookware company also produces other cooking implements, such as spoons and spatulas, using the same paper composite material.

All of which is to say, this is the only brand of cutting board I’ll be buying, for myself or others, in the years to come. The joy and satisfaction I experience each time I pull my Epicurean cutting boards from the cabinet or dishwasher simply cannot be replaced.
