Gregg Wallace, 57, is a broadcaster from Peckham, south London. He has appeared in a slew of TV shows over the years and, tonight, will present Gregg Wallace’s Grand Christmas Adventure on Channel Five. The programme will follow Gregg as he travels around Lapland to discover what makes Santa Claus’ home so unique.

Gregg has opened up about his weight loss journey in the past, having lost a whopping four stone and a half in recent years.

The MasterChef star even launched a weight loss programme to help others shed the pounds too.

But how did he manage such a transformation?

Speaking on ITV’s Lorraine in 2020, Gregg credited his wife, Anna-Marie Sterpini, whom he married in 2016, for his weight loss.

The TV personality said: “I’ve lost four stone over the years with Anna’s help and Anna’s cooking.”

Gregg started to watch what he ate, but he stressed he “never” went on a diet.

He told Good Morning Britain in September this year that he wants other slimmers to do the same, taking inspiration from his personal journey, but also from his weight loss programme.

Gregg said: “I try and help people now – I’ve lost four and a half stone.

“I’ve got a weight loss programme called Show Me Fit.

“I try and help people to lose weight, and I educate people as best as I can in the way that it worked for me.”

The presenter went on to explain how he managed to shed the pounds, saying: “I never went on a silly diet.

“I never cut out carbs.

“I never starved myself.

“What I did was I taught myself what I could eat a lot of and what I had to eat sparingly.”

Gregg added: “The message here is do not put yourself under pressure going on a crazy diet and thinking that maybe from New Year’s Day or the day after your holiday that you are going to change your life completely.

“That’s putting yourself under too much pressure.

“What you want are small gradual steps to a healthier lifestyle that is achievable, that is sustainable.”

But when it comes to weight loss, exercise is also important.

To help him lose weight and become fitter, Gregg started doing regular exercise with the help of his personal trainer, Danny Rai.

The 57-year-old presenter often shares photos of himself working out with Danny on his Instagram, again inspiring others to keep active.
