Kate Garraway will appear on British screens tonight, speaking to Welsh singing sensation Charlotte Church. The TV journalist will be asking Charlotte about her life stories as host of the programme of the same name, airing tonight on ITV at 9pm.
Kate Garraway has lost an impressive three stone in recent years.
In 2019, participating on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! contributed to her transformation as Kate lost two stone before going on the show.
In order to shed the pounds, she made easy changes to her diet, such as swapping sugar and caffeine for avocados.
The fruit contains healthy fats and powerful antioxidants which can offer various health benefits.
As a super food, avocados help people feel fuller for longer, thus leading to weight loss.
Speaking to Fit & Well magazine, Kate explained why avocados were the right food for her.
She said: “I tried different popular diets and realised, because of the crazy shifts I do, I regulated my energy with sugar bursts.
“I don’t think I ate a lot of sugar but by 8am I’ve always had loads of chocolate.

“Now I eat avocados obsessively because I found one of the diets was high in good fat, medium protein and zero sugar – which is a bit extreme for me.
“But eating avocados and low-sugar foods help keep my energy levels up.”
However, the low-calorie diet of rice, beans and lean meats Kate ate in the I’m A Celeb jungle, as well as the gruelling challenges she had to partake in, meant she lost another stone.
When she came home, the 54-year-old was open about her transformation, telling The Mirror: “I was a bit shocked when I got into the dressing room and looked in the mirror.
“I thought, ‘Oh, my God!’ because you don’t see yourself. There is no mirror in the jungle.
“They weigh you before you go in and they weigh you when you come out and I’ve lost a stone.
“I was really eating in there as well, so rice and beans is kind of the way to go.”
However, fast-forward a year and fans of Kate’s were expressing concern about her weight, commenting on her Instagram posts that she looked too thin.
This was in October 2020, when Kate’s husband, Derek, was severely ill with Covid.
Kate, however, reassured fans and Good Morning Britain viewers that she was well.
She wrote on Instagram: “I try to go day-to-day.
“I’m aware that people are saying I’m looking a bit thin.
“I am eating, I promise you I’m eating. I promise you I’m feeling myself.”
