Letitia Dean’s return to EastEnders earlier this year was highly-anticipated but it wasn’t just her fiery character Sharon Watts that stunned fans. As the star stepped back on-set of the long-running BBC soap, it was clear she had lost an incredible amount of weight.

In fact, Letitia has lost a whopping two stone and was branded a “skinny Queen” by viewers who praised her noticeably slimmer figure.

While it takes some people a longer period to shed pounds, Letitia managed to reach her goals in a very short space of time.

In just four months, she went from 10st 4lbs to 8st 3lbs, having dropped a huge four dress sizes.

But what did she do to achieve her weight loss transformation?

Letitia has been on our screens for years, ever since she joined the soap back in 1985.

In the past she admitted she had been labelled “too fat” having suffered with her fluctuating weight.

She had tried every fad diet on the market, saying in a previous interview: “The cabbage soup diet, the Atkins and a really disgusting eggs-only diet.”

Speaking on EastEnders’ spin-off show Secrets from the Square, she admitted the reason behind taking part in Strictly Come Dancing back in 2007, was that she needed help slimming down.

“The main reason I signed up was because I wanted to do something about my figure,” she explained.

“I was so sick of extreme dieting and my weight yo-yoing.”

But now she’s finally found something that works for her and fans were eager to know what diet plan she followed to drop weight so fast.

And what makes it even better is that achieved her success all while still eating carbs.

Letitia focuses on “healthy foods”, revealing her diet consists of: “Pitta bread with a grilled skinless chicken breast, for instance, and lots of greens.”

The TV star also noticed the food she was eating affected her energy, saying she was shocked to find her energy levels soared after changing her diet.

“It was incredible,” she beamed. “I found I had so much more energy than when I used to eat junk food.”

Alongside exercise, Letitia began a new diet plan and reduced her calorie intake to 1,300 in order to lose weight.

A calorie deficit is the energy your body requires to maintain your current weight, minus your dietary calorie intake.

According to WebMD, if a person wants to begin a calorie deficit, a good rule of thumb for healthy weight loss is a deficit of around 500 calories per day.

This if done correctly, could promote the loss of about one pound per week.
