Weight loss diets come in all shapes and sizes but this man has revealed how the keto diet plan helped him lose 7.3 stone fast.

He praised “eating mindfully” for his transformation, which he managed in only 10 months.

The man shrank down from 295 lbs, or 21 stone, to a much slimmer 13.7 stone, or 193 lbs.

So how did he manage this impressive transformation?

The Reddit user revealed he relied on the keto diet to shed some of the weight.

He said: “Eating keto has been one of the easiest things I’ve ever done. This was not challenging.

“It simply took a matter of time. It also led me to learning how to cook and to bake.”

What is the keto diet?

The keto diet is a low-carb plan that puts the body into a state of ketosis. This means the body burns fat or fuel, instead of carbs.

Keto-friendly foods include meat, fish, eggs, cream, cheese, nuts and healthy oils.

Dieters should avoid foods high in carbs, such as sugar, bread, grains or sugar fruits.

The Reddit user also revealed that he cut down on his calories to lose the weight, adding: “I maintained a massive deficit for the majority of my weight loss.

Most days, I was probably around 1,200-1,800 calories. As for macros, I used this calculator, setting my current weight as ten pounds lighter than I am (updating every ten pounds), and with a 50 per cent deficit.

“There have been more than a few days where I went over my caloric limit, but I was at a great deficit on a weekly basis, which is what is important.”

Another women revealed how the keto diet helped her to lose 4st 4lb. 

The woman posted before and after pictures on the social media site, revealing she slimmed down to a healthy 10st 10lb.

What’s more, she has managed to maintain this low weight for the last three months.

The effects of the keto diet plan can be boosted by drinking lemon water, some studies have claimed to show. 

It looked at mice being fed various types of diet, a low fat diet, a high fat diet and a high fat diet with a supplement of 0.5 per cent lemon extract.

It found that the mice eating the diet with added lemon had weight gain suppressed and fat accumulation reduced.
