Ingredients

  1. 1 box white cake mix
  2. 1 can Sprite
  3. 2 tangerines
  4. Frosting
  5. 1 lb confectioners sugar
  6. 6 ounces unsalted butter
  7. 2 ounces shortening
  8. 1 egg
  9. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  10. Yellow/red food coloring

Steps

  1. Mix the boxed cake with sprite

  2. Zest two tangerines

  3. Pour cake batter into 2 8” bundt pans sprayed with nonstick

  4. Cool cake according to box

  5. Beat room temp butter and shortening until light and fluffy (about 4 minutes)

  6. Add egg and beat until fluffy

  7. Add confectioners sugar 1/2 cup at a time, scraping side down as needed

  8. Squeeze juice from two tangerines and add

  9. Add vanilla extract and food coloring

  10. Let cake cool and frost.
