This recipe is very famous during rainy season.. there is a place in Pune,Maharashtra . Sinhgad fort where these types of crispy onion pakoda with a special type of onion chutney is popular . Lets check how to make them at home.
Ingredients
- 2 medium size sliced onion
- 1 tsp salt
- To make grind paste :
- 3-4 cloves garlic
- 2 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp carom seed
- For adding :
- Chopped coriander
- 2 tsp red chili powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 cup graham flour
- 1 tbsp corn flour
- Pinch baking soda
- Water as required
- Oil to fry
- For onion chutney
- 1 chopped onion
- 3 tsp red chili powder
- Salt
- 2 tbsp boiling hot oil
Steps
Add sliced onion in a bowl and add salt, mix it well and keep it aside for min.15 min
Grind garlic, cumin seed, carom seed and add that paste to the sliced onion.
Add coriander, red chili powder, turmeric powder and mix it well
Add graham flour and mix it well, add little by little water and mix it well, then add corn starch and baking soda and mix it well.
When the oil is hot add this in oil and fry all the pakoda very nicely.
For making chutney Add chopped onion in a bowl, add red chili powder and turmeric mix it well then add the boiling hot oil from frying pan mix it well.
Serve hot Onion pakoda with Spicy chutney and hot Masala Tea.
