This recipe makes 2 regular crust pizzas or 1 deep dish pizza.
Ingredients
- 1 (.25 oz) package active dry yeast
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup warm water
- Sprinkle of corn meal
- Dough
- 1 tablespoon basil
- 1 clove garlic
- 1/2 teaspoon dry oregano
- 1 (28 oz) can crushed tomato
- 16 oz can tomato paste
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 tablespoon sugar
- 2 tablespoon olive oil
- Pinch pepper
- Sauce
Steps
In a bowl mix active dry yeast with sugar and warm water let it get frothy
Add olive oil, salt and flour and mix it, should pull away from bowl if it’s too sticky you can always add a little flour
Split ball of dough in to two and let it rest in bowl, covered with a kitchen towel about 15-20 min
After this sprinkle flour on counter then roll out dough on top of floured counter top until it gets pretty thin or about the size of your pizza pan.
Sprinkle corn meal on pizza pan and lay rolled out dough on top.
In a sauce pan put olive oil and garlic clove until fragrant in low heat
Pour can of crushed tomato and tomato paste put herbs, salt and sugar mix with spoon and let simmer
Put tomato sauce on rolled out dough and put cheese, pepperoni and whatever toppings you like.
Pre heat oven at 375 degrees put pizza in oven until edges are golden brown and cheese is melted. Let cool a little then cut with pizza cutter and enjoy ?
