In minang we called it asam padeh. The fish can substitute with chicken or beef or everything meat u want. The tofu is just additional and also can substitute with others. I hope u enjoy it

Ingredients

  1. 250 gr fish (I use Indian mackerel)
  2. 2 pcs tofu
  3. 50 gr chilli
  4. 40 gr shallot
  5. 35 gr garlic
  6. 3 candlenut
  7. 1 lemongrass
  8. 4 kaffir lime leaves
  9. 2 cm galangal
  10. 2 cm turmeric
  11. 1 turmeric leaf
  12. 3 pcs asam kandis or tamarind seed
  13. Lime juice from 1/2 lime
  14. 800 ml water

Steps

  1. Wash and marinate fish with lime juice for 10 min

  2. Blend candlenut, galangal, turmeric, chilli, garlic, shallot

  3. Stir fry the blend spices, put lemongrass, kaffir lime and turmeric leaf

  4. Add water and boil for 5 min then put tofu, fish and asam kandis.

  5. Boil all ingredients until the water decrease.
