Low sugar sugar cookies?! Who thought of this?! Me…. actually I got an idea from Instagram and made my own recipe from my grandmothers sugar cookie recipe! ?…. I know, I’m sooo original!
I have a horrible addiction to sugar…. HORRIBLE! But who can’t love sugar? Anyway.. I’m always trying to find ways to lowwwww my sugar eating. These cookies are a good way!
I’m a pastry chef so I make foods with sugar in them! It’s hard not to bake without sugar… and when I am on a diet for “no sugar” it’s hard not to cook!! These are a perfect low sugar to no sugar cookie recipe! Give them a try and you’ll see what I’m talking about!
Ingredients
- For the cookies:
- 3/4 cup white flour
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon + 1/8 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 1/2 tablespoon milk
- 1/4 cup butter
- For the frosting:
- 1 cup swerve (powdered sugar alternative)
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 1/2 tablespoon vanilla
Steps
For the cookies:
Mix together all dry ingredients
Add the milk, vanilla, and butter
Mix well
Let refrigerate for 2 hours (this part is optional if you don’t want soft cookies)
Roll into 1/2 inch balls and place on a cookie sheet
Bake at 325 degrees for 9 minutes
Let cool
For the frosting:
Mix all ingredients together and add a food coloring (optional)
Enjoy your cookies!
