This makes a great breakfast or afternoon snack and it’s easy enough for the kids to make it on their own. Recipe adapted from :


  1. 1/2 banana
  2. 2 1/2 tbsp. milk
  3. 2 tsp. pure maple syrup (or honey)
  4. 3 tbsp. whole wheat flour
  5. 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  6. 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
  7. Pinch salt
  8. 1 tbsp. raisins


  1. In a greased mug (6-8 oz. size), mash the banana half. Then stir in the milk and maple syrup. Add the flour, baking powder, cinnamon and salt and mix until it’s all combined. Stir in the raisins.

  2. Pop it in the microwave for 45 secs up to 2 mins (It really depends on your microwaves wattage. We heat it in 20 second intervals after the first minute.) It’s done when the top is firm and dry.

  3. That’s it! Enjoy it right away.
