Waitrose is the latest major supermarket to recall one of its food products due to an undeclared allergen.<\/p>\n
The retailer urged customers who have purchased selected batches of Findlater\u2019s Roast Smoked Salmon Pate.<\/p>\n
According to the Food Standards Agency (FSA), the product contains undeclared mustard and is “a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to mustard”.<\/p>\n
While the item is not manufactured by Waitrose, the recall only affects products sold in its supermarket stores and is specific to England, Wales and Northern Ireland.<\/p>\n
The supermarket urged customers not to consume the pate if they have an intolerance or allergy to mustard, and instead, package up the item and return it to their local Waitrose & Partners branch for a refund.<\/p>\n

More info<\/p>\n A statement issued by the FSA read: “Findlater\u2019s Fine Foods is recalling the above product from customers and has been advised to contact the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall.<\/p>\n “The company has also issued a point-of-sale notice to its customers.<\/p>\n “These notices explain to customers why the products are being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the products.”<\/p>\n Waitrose apologised for the inconvenience caused by the food recall and reassured customers of their “continued commitment to the highest standards of product quality and food safety”.<\/p>\n Only those who purchased the affected batches are eligible for a full refund from the retailer.<\/p>\n Customers who have already consumed the product or thrown it away can still get a refund as long as they have proof of purchase – such as a till receipt, bank statement, or online order confirmation.<\/p>\n![](\"https:\/\/cdn.images.express.co.uk\/img\/dynamic\/14\/590x\/secondary\/WAITROSE-PATE-FOOD-RECALL-4887892.jpg?r=1690969556697\")
