Fajitas can be made in so many different ways with various vegetables, meat and seasonings to experiment with.
But those who like keeping it simple with a mixture of chicken, peppers and onion can whip them up in just minutes using an air fryer.
Sharing the recipe on her food blog Love and Other Spices, a self-proclaimed foodie Farwin Simaak claimed that it’s “so flavourful” and makes for a “quick and easy weeknight dinner”.
The simple method comprises succulent chicken breast with crunchy vegetables coated in a Mexican-inspired blend of ground spices.
What’s more, it takes just 15 minutes to prepare, cook and serve the hearty dish.

Preheat the air fryer to 200C for five minutes while preparing the chicken and vegetables. Do this by slicing the meat into even-sized strips, along with the onion and peppers.
Combine the fajita seasoning ingredients in a small bowl and stir well to blend. Pour the chicken and vegetables into a larger mixing bowl and add two tablespoons of the fajita flavouring.
Stir well to coat the raw produce adding a little oil to help it stick. Once covered, transfer the contents of the bowl to the air fryer basket in a single layer.
Farwin said: “Place the chicken and veggies in a single layer as much as you can and avoid stacking. This helps them cook evenly and prevents steaming the chicken and gives a nice “char”.
“Cook in two batches if you’re cooking more than one pound of chicken or if you have a smaller air fryer.”
Leave to fry for 10 to 12 minutes, flipping the contents of the basket halfway through. Then, remove from the appliance and serve hot in warm tortillas with a range of toppings.
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container and safely kept in the fridge for three to five days. Any leftover seasoning mix should be kept in a clean, dry jar or tub with a sealed lid ready to use at a later date.
